Real Estate Agent

“Katherine is the best real estate agent I’ve ever had – and I’ve bought and sold a lot of houses!”

Katherine’s clients say she is “patient and persistent,” “tenacious,” “calm and unflappable.” She enjoys working with buyers and sellers and has successfully represented clients from first time homebuyers to experienced investors and those selling or buying in the $1 million and above price range.

Katherine, a native of Greensboro, earned her real estate license a few years after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill. She worked briefly in the field before turning her attention to raising her three daughters. As they grew up, Katherine spent a number of years working as a writer and editor for local and regional publications and institutions, including Triangle Business Journal, Carolina Parent, Our State magazine and her alma mater, UNC.

In 2002, Katherine and her husband, Vince, moved to Edenton, North Carolina, when Vince accepted a position at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City. During their six years in Edenton, she renewed her real estate license and affiliated with Perry & Company Real Estate, which became part of the Sotheby’s International Realty network in 2007. Katherine thrived on the challenges and excitement of meeting new people and assisting them with buying or selling homes. In 2009, she returned to Chapel Hill and affiliated with a local real estate agency. Upon the opening of their new office in early 2017, Katherine enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to return to the Sotheby’s fold and joined Hodge & Kittrell Sotheby’s International Realty.

Katherine and Vince live in the East Franklin-Rosemary Historic District in Chapel Hill, and she has a special interest in and knowledge of historic properties. Katherine is active at Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church and is on the board of Preservation Chapel Hill. She supports many community organizations, including the Ackland Art Museum, the North Carolina Botanical Garden and Kidzu Children’s Museum.

One fun fact: Katherine is one of nine children and has six brothers and two sisters – perhaps that’s how she learned to be so patient, persistent and calm, in the midst of the delightful chaos of growing up in such a large family!

She puts those traits to work, assisting her clients with their real estate needs.
